Shawl Every Day 2019
As some of you may know, I have frequently endeavored to wear every shawl I own every day in a row until I run out. You can see previous runs for 2016 and 2018 on Instagram with hashtags #shawleveryday and #shawleveryday2018.
2019 is going to be a little bit different. Starting January 1, 2019, I will wear a shawl that I've made, every single day until I run out, but also accompany that photo with information or a resource related to mental health.
Mental health is a topic incredibly important to me and I want to do my best to #endthestigma by providing ways you can learn about mental illness and better understand the people who are experiencing mental health issues.
Nearly every shawl I showcase is available for purchase, and 50% of the sale price will go to Independence Center of St. Louis, which provides community-based rehabilitation program for adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses in the St. Louis area. If you don't wish to purchase a shawl, you can also donate to the campaign directly.
