Today is #BellLetsTalk Day!

Bell Let's Talk is focused on the following 4 pillars:

  • Reducing stigma, promoting awareness and understanding

  • Providing support and services when and where people need it

  • Mental health research

  • Encouraging corporate engagement in the Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace

Today, Bell Canada will donate $0.05 to Canadian mental health initiatives for every text message sent on Bell’s mobile network, for every tweet and retweet using hashtag #BellLetsTalk, for every video view of the Bell Let’s Talk Day video on social media, and for every use of the Bell Let’s Talk Facebook frame or Snapchat filter.

There are other ways you can help too!

  • Use people-first language such as "person with a mental illness" or "person with schizophrenia" instead of slang like "schizo" or "crazy"

  • Educate yourself and learn the facts and myths about mental illness

  • Be kind!

  • Listen and ask questions like "Is everything okay?" or "How can I help?"

  • Break the silence and talk about your experience with mental health issues
