MMtM 2020 Day 8: Love to Make

It is no secret that I love to make shawls. They are gorgeous, versatile, interesting, and functional. You can wear a bulky one when it's cold, you can wear a lightweight one when it's warmer. They can be challenging to make with lace and cables, or they can be simpler and mindless to make while watching a show.

Today's image shows off pretty much every shawl I have made, over 80 in total! Some I keep for myself, some have been sold, some have been gifts, and some are still waiting to find the right home.

I have used my shawl collection in the past as part of a project called #shawleveryday where I wear a different shawl every day until I run out, in order to showcase the beauty of shawls and the different ways to wear them. In 2019, I accompanied each shawl post with mental health information to reduce the stigma around talking about mental health.

I also have a program called #hugsyoucanwear where I will send a shawl to someone in need. Whether it be because of a loss or an illness or whatever you might be going through, a shawl is a hug you can wear and it can bring comfort to a rough situation.
